AN AUDIENCE WILL BE ATTRACTED TO A GREAT IDEA NO MATTER THE BUDGET, THE STARS, ETC. THE AUDIENCE DOESN’T KNOW HOW MUCH A MOVIE COSTS AND THEY DON’T CARE.

THE FUTURE OF THE MOVIE BUSINESS

  • movies and television will compete in the same digital marketplace.

  • two separate movie markets. The theatrical market and the digital market.

  • movies in theaters will be large-scale event pictures. They will create a viewing experience that can’t be duplicated in the home, similar to an amusement park ride.

  • non event-size films will be available to consumers day-and-date.

  • the value of stars will continue to diminish. Why? Because a modern audience view themselves as the star. A movie's sole purpose should be to provide a vehicle for an audiences' hopes, dreams, fears and fantasies.

  • stars will no longer open a movie solely on their own. Their presence will simply serve as brand recognition for a consumer to chose a movie.

HOW MOVIES CAN SUCCEED IN THE DIGITAL WORLD

  • genre films must have a high concept that can hook an audience in 5 seconds.

  • marketing materials can’t give away the whole movie. Our greatest entrepreneurs and artists believe in withholding information to create audience anticipation.

  • marketing materials should sell the high concept hook of the film. If the concept has been properly formulated and taps into the zeitgeist, then the campaign should work.
